About Product Specifications

A Technical Data Sheet or product bulletin provides technical information published by the product manufacturer or other identified source. It may describe construction, tested performance, physical properties, and recommended use. A technical document is not necessarily the complete manufacturer warranty.

These documents provide information about technologies Auto Cosmetics currently offers or has previously installed. The specific material installed on a customer's vehicle is identified in the applicable quote, invoice, or coverage record.

Product Availability

Product availability and technology may change. This page is informational and does not promise that a particular brand or product will be used in a transaction. The applicable quote, service confirmation, invoice, or other Transaction Document identifies the approved specifications. If a Transaction Document identifies a specific product by brand or product name, substitution requires the customer's written or authenticated electronic approval.

What's in a Spec Sheet

Every spec sheet covers the same core categories, with the specific metrics that matter for each product type:

  • Construction: film thickness, layer composition, and substrate materials
  • Optical performance: visible light transmission, gloss, haze, and color stability
  • Heat performance: IR rejection, SIRR at 1,400nm, and total solar energy rejected
  • UV protection: percentage of ultraviolet light blocked
  • Mechanical properties: tensile strength, scratch resistance, and self-healing behavior
  • Surface chemistry: hydrophobic performance, contact angle, and chemical resistance
  • Durability: expected service life
  • Care requirements: approved cleaners, wash methods, and what to avoid

Additional Layers of Protection

When applicable to the material installed, manufacturer warranty coverage remains available under the manufacturer's written terms. The Auto Cosmetics Limited Warranty provides an additional, separate layer of protection covering the installed result for its applicable service-specific period.

The Auto Cosmetics Limited Warranty does not replace, shorten, or eliminate applicable manufacturer coverage. Manufacturer coverage does not extend the Auto Cosmetics coverage period.

Manufacturer Coverage

Manufacturer warranty eligibility, registration, duration, maintenance, transferability, claim procedures, remedies, exclusions, and labor coverage are governed solely by the applicable manufacturer warranty. Auto Cosmetics will provide available installation records and reasonable administrative assistance, but manufacturer approval and remedies are determined by the manufacturer.

Published performance figures come from the identified source documents. Results may vary by product configuration, film shade, test method, vehicle glass, installation, condition, exposure, and use. Review the applicable source document for testing details and limitations.
